What am I reading?
I chose to explore Goodreads for my technology tool this week. I discovered that I had made an account in June 2008, and I am not sure why? I never explored the website or added anything about myself. I chose this tool because it looks like a good place to rate books and find out recommendations. It also looks like a safe place to have students rate books as well which would be beneficial for a librarian and school media center. I really like that this tool has the listopia option. I also like that you can create a book list for future reading. This list can be at your fingertips at all times if you use the Goodreads app on your phone. I also like they have new release and the “best of” categories. My experience with the tool was a great one. Goodreads seems very user friendly and books are easily found as I said above on the regular site or the app version. I do not see a use for the quizzes, but I did only take one and maybe there is a point. I really want to still explore the option of adding friends as many colleagues can also give great recommendations. I think that I would like to use this tool in the future by inviting students to post their recommendations. I also think this would be awesome to use with classes during literature circles, or if you start a book club for your library. I look forward to adding more books to my list and rating them.
